Travel Tips
Hotel Suggestions
If you need recommendations for hotels that are nearby our conference locations, contact our team. There is no dedicated hotel, as the conference does not take place inside a hotel.
Train travel within Germany
If you travel to Hamburg via train from within Germany, you can usually save money by using the Deutsche Bahn “event ticket” connected to the summit – book via Summit Train Ticket Shop.
Subway travel within Hamburg
In Hamburg the public transport via metro is king. If you want to book a ride, there are digital ticket booths in each station, but its also very convenient to pay tickets via the HVV app, which saves money (7% discount) and can give you directions as well.
Taxi in Hamburg
If you need a cab during your Hamburg visit, we recommend you call Hansa Taxi. They always accept credit card payment and welcome business customers. Hansa has specific phone lines and meeting points for a pickup at airport or central station, those fares are transparently charged via taximeter and don’t cost extra.
Car Parking
If you travel by car to the conference, which we would not recommend, the next 24/7 underground parking garage is here.
Event questions
What do you mean by "no basics" regarding the talks?
We encourage our speakers to nerd out on stage as much as they want and if they usually would include some kind of intro basics, our suggestion is to skip them entirely or compress hard. This can lead to participants having to read up on the basics themselves after the conference if the topics are new to them.
Can I transfer my ticket?
Yes, you could transfer your ticket to another person, but please make sure to let us know about this beforehand, so we can adjust the name tag.
Will there be Wi-Fi?
While the conference will provide basic internet access, the evening event will have none. We are on a museum ship at the harbor. We will be off the grid, and we like it. Talk to people!
Do you record the talks?
No, we will not record any of the presentations and video recordings are prohibited for the attendees. You can take pictures though.
Will you share the slides?
Each speaker may decide to share and provide a link. It’s not mandatory though.
I need an invitation for my visa
If you need an invitation letter to apply for a Schengen visa, please contact us.
Does the event have a dress code?
No. You can wear your dino-onesie for all we care. Pants would be nice.
Special needs
Accessibility of venues
Should you have specific questions about the accessibility of venues, please contact us before purchasing the ticket and we will check it for you. Both locations are accessible for wheelchair users, but we will have to e.g. organize this together with the museum ship.
Dietary restrictions
The complete event will always offer vegetarian options. Should you have special dietary requests make sure you let us know when buying your ticket.
